Gossip!
Well what is it with the world of chins - it seems that there are so many people involved in chins that have nothing more to do with their lives than pick and grind at others rather than working together in support.

This is a post to address some of the gossip and rumours I have heard about me in the last few months - amazing how much there can be about people. I have heard similir - and worst about many other people too - some top breeders who have been about for eyaqrs. It seems the whole showing/breefding fraterntiy is encased in a mist of gossip, libel, slander and bakc biting. This is mainly down to a VERY small ghroup of people with very large mouths - if you are into the showing world it doesnt take too long to identify who they are - all mouth and no brian is my usual attitude to them :) If i have a problem i will address it and speak to a persnoal direct - not snipe and take sly digs - why cant more people be the same? Keeping chins should bring out the love and compassion in people and their mutual love of a such a beautiful anima;l - instead it brings out greed, envy and jealousy - they dont sit well on me- but tehy sit on the people that find them at home with their own issues and self depreceition.

Last year i had a bout of fur fungus here due to helping a freiend - an article of it appeared in teht NCS Gazette for Dec 05. And that was cleared up by the end of the summer last year after a lot of hard work, effort, time and money. But certain people take a rumour and spread it as solid gossip - one of the worst for that has been again a person ihad problems with last year, a realtive new comer not been in the NCS that much longer than myself but does do the main show, no idea why she has this need - maybe she feels threatened in some way? Or maybe just so gullible that people with more intellect can get her to do their dirty wortk for them, as she passes on information as fact when she hasnt actually checked or seen for herself. She has been offered to visit in the past many times but never has - so obviously the conditions she perceives and her "concern" for he animals is less than her need to feel important with gossip and scaremongering. Probably its a good job as she is a very large lady and would have problems getting into my chin room where the space is more dedicated to the chins than people, as those that have visited know

due to her constant trouble making lately, the NCS commitee approcahed me and askedif i would mind onbe of their memebers coming round to see the conditions for themself and see if there was aproblem - of course i had no problem with this at all and said they were wwelcome any tiem and just to call up and come round. A vist was done - and as expected no problems.

I have now had people send to "check up on me" fro mthe Environmental Health, housing office, RSPCA and the NCS - all because of gossips and there need to procreate random rubbish not based on facts,. none of the official bodies had ANY problems at all with me, my animals or there care -and they are winning awards when shown - smething ill or poorly kept animals wouild not do. so why do they still feel the need to gossip?/ are their lives really so sad?

There is also antoher case of gossip going about regharding me. I sold a black vevlet female for £100, a fair price I believe as she was from pedigree lines, had been shown and got an award, and had good potential to get better as she was only young. I have paid more than that for all my Black s with pedigrees - and that is withjout any awards at all - but i was slagged off for overcharging - if anyone knows of a full pedigree ribbon winning black for £100 please do let me know as i want some! I only sold that one as in her pedigree, when i received it, i found that one of her grandparents was an ebony - which meant that there were ebony genes flaoting through her that could come out. The person that bought her was inmformed of this.

The chin had been in breeding for approximately amonth when i diuscovered this so immediately removed her and listed her for sale as i did not work with ebonies. The person upon enquiring was informed that there was a slim chance that she may be pregnant - though her weights at the time did not suggest it as it was very early on. She said shewas happy with this and paid a deposit for her as i ask from all my anima,s. She then came back to me after chatting to a certain gossip and said she had changed her mind and wanted her money back. I refused. I told her if she was concerned i would hold the female for her for a couple of months to make definetly sure she was not pregnant before she was moved - she chose not too and still wanted to take delivery. I then said if she did happen to have kits i would be interested in getting back a kit from the litter to see how it developed as it would be the first litter from the male that she had been paired with and wqould liek to see how it developed. She also said this was fine.

After taking delivery of the chin i then heard a lot of gossip that i had said the chin was pregnant and too small to breed (she was over 500g and over 550g i think if i remember right) so on the small side of most females but in the safe zone for breeding (the male she was too was small as well), i also heard that i was supposed to have said that she MUST give me back all the kits - i would have bought one back to see the line developed as mentioned - but didnt want the kits at all as they were ebony lines and no use to myself in my breeding.

The chin did go on to have kits, and mum was fine and raised most of the litter problem free. The new"caring owner" then rehomed mumm and kits as she had changed her mind about breeding chins after all!


Since then it seems that thisperson has constantly repeated the tale in her woe is me style. It does make you wonder as to the motivation factor that drives people - as it obvoously is not the concern for the animals welfare - else why rehome it so soon after saying on CU that it would have a home for life becasue of its horrible treatment with me

So a word to the gossips - get ya facts right!

Some i have heard said about me and my home:

Someone found the smell so bad they threw up when here - the only person from the chin worl i know that has thrown up here was due to alcohol - but i shant name her to spare her blushes :)

My coffee cups are so disgusting you shouldnt risk them - im sure the other half will be sad to know his washing up is so bad as he spends hours doing it :)

I sell rescues as pedigreeechins - when people come to get a chin from me they get given its history as far as i know it, and in most cases can meet its parents, grandparents - and in a few cases great grandparents.

I make up pedigrees - i dont have a need - most of my animals have full pedigrees ( some fro mcertain breeders dont as they never issued pedigress and they are simply of the peds as saying DFrom Paul Danes lines etc). This gossip came about because of the silly person with the BV mentioned above. One of the parents to the BV was from Paul Spooner a top UK breeder, and when he buys in an animal he gives it his own codes which start with a X - there were a lot of them in that pedigree - but she assumed i had made up the pedigree as they were not proper codes! all i did was copy it onto my format off the original.

I have fur fungus - hmmm its been gone for probably about 6 months now - confirmed by vets and the NCS visitor,

I had a dead chin left in a cage when someone visited - we all have some animals die occasionally and it is sad. but there has never been a chin found dead in a cage here when a visitor was present, so no idea where this rumour started - unless someone saw one asleep lying on its side - as many d0 - and assumed the worst?


Thats the ones i can rememebr for now - but i know there are more.

so what to be done about it? generally i ignore such rubbish - it has had littel affect on me and my animals, my kits still sell to the people that take the time to come and see them for themself or phone me and speak to me as a person. If you hear rumours aboutr ANY breeder - DONT automatially belvie them even if they do come from a few differnt places - one gossip putting words in ears spread out can get a whole pile of lies spread VERY fast - and too soon people can assumethem as fact. Instead of passing those on - look for yourself, speak to the breeder. go visit and see their animals and cages. dirty animals, cages, homes show up immediately.

My message to the gossips:
Use your brain and not your mouth - focus on your faults not others then maybe we can all get along a bit better
