Well today saw the arrival on Kims baby - it was a month earlier than expected. Having him today means she got preanangt within the first few dyas of being opened to the male! She has had a standard sapphire carrying kit, the dad is a sapphire bred by Bert Bouwens.
The kit is a lovely respectable 55g in weight and already running about and climbing up the bars - shame it was only the one tho as her kits always have such very thick fur! Spruce her last kit is getting very very thick and dark now he is 7 months old approx - but could be a big bigger but I think that was his dads influence as his dad was only just 500g.
Im still chasing pedigrees form one breeder that I had three animals off - she keeps promising to send them but still havent received them. I find this soooooo annoying as it means you cant pair the animals up until you know what lines they are from and whether they could brealted to anything you are planning to pair them to - it also means that i dont even have the birthdates in some cases for them!
Had news off one of my breeding program shares that three females seem to be pregnant to a male i lent them - this is good news for both of us as we share the kits 50/50 so i get new blood lines into my herd, and they increase their own.Current Mood:  excited |

Tonight i lost a female Charcoal carrier.
She had arrived to me preggers and i hadnt know it - she was gaining weight steadily but tonight i found her in her cage dead.v Veyt thinks the kits were overdue and were far down in pelvis but it had not opened for htem to pass :( I feel terrible that hadnt found her earlier and been able to get her to the vet to save her andhopefully the kits through a C section.
I have been lucky this year - this is the first female to have problems with a birth that needed vet asistance for me - in the number of litters i have had this is extremely lucky. |
